Your questions, answered

Can a doctor really assess my child over video?

For many common childhood illnesses, yes: fever, coughs, tummy bugs, rashes, bites and minor injuries can be assessed well on video with a parent's help. When an in-person examination is needed, the doctor says so honestly and helps arrange a home visit or a trusted clinic.

Does my child need to be present for the consultation?

Yes, together with a parent or guardian. Children are always seen with a parent present, and the doctor will guide you through anything they need to check, such as temperature, breathing or looking at a rash.

My child has a fever in Bali. When is it urgent?

See a doctor promptly for any fever in a baby under 3 months, a fever with a rash that doesn't fade under pressure, difficulty breathing, unusual drowsiness, signs of dehydration, or a fever lasting more than a few days. If your child seems seriously unwell, treat it as an emergency and seek in-person care immediately.

Can you deliver children's medication?

Yes. Where treatment is appropriate, the doctor prescribes children's formulations at the right dose for your child's age and weight, dispensed by a licensed pharmacy and delivered to your hotel or villa, usually the same day.

Is the consultation really free?

The first GP consultation is free, with no obligation. You always see the exact price of any medication or service before you pay.

Children are seen with a parent or guardian present. A doctor's assessment is required before any prescription. Not for medical emergencies. In an emergency, call local emergency services or 118.
